Knock Out Lures product development team has been fishing the great lakes for over 20 years they possess the skill and knowledge to design and create some of the best fishing products on the market. The team began looking at various brands of spoons a few years back and always finding slight flaws with them or that they needed to be a bit smaller here and a tad wider there. For some baits they realized if they changed the metal to a different weight the action would be better through a wider range of trolling speeds. The team had been frustrated over the past with lure finishes and the paint peeling off after very few fish, one of the main focuses was to source paint that would not come off under most circumstances. Another problem the average angler was faced with was that there are so many baits and prices so high for a lure they could not afford to have a large variety of baits in their box, especially if the finishes kept peeling off. So our goal was to set out and design / manufacture a quality product at a great price!
In early 2007 the lure shapes and designs were conceptualized and designed in a solid modeling software package, each lure was then tested in flow simulation software. After tweaking the lures in the software prototypes were made and tested, then back to the software to make the final tweaks. The first prototypes hit the hands of the test team in the fall of 2007; the results were great the action on the baits was great through a wide range of trolling speeds. With some minor modifications the products were ready for production tooling, the team started work on the tooling in spring 2008 and the first off samples were ready for testing late summer 2008. There were a few holes in the lineup so it was decided to bring on an additional 2 sizes to bring the options up to 5 different sizes in each colour pattern and finish. Over the 2009 year the team had to test various colours to see what colours would make the first release for the 2010 fishing season. You can be sure that each year even semi annually new colours will be released; the team felt that they should bring out the staple colours to start. Since they were tried and tested year after year by many anglers! Our spoons have been designed and engineered to have one of the most unique movements in the water, the spoons are designed and dart when speed is increased or decreased or just simply fishing rough water.
